{East Hill} Mudroom
I am finally getting around to posting pictures of one of my very first jobs, this East Hill Mudroom!! This was for a dear friend who needed some help organizing this catch-all room. She knew she wanted it to have mudroom lockers, but after searching online decided custom lockers were the way to go. This is a family of four, with two little guys, who are very active and completely into sports. The room is right off of the backyard, so this is also the room the kids run into after being in the pool all day.
If you missed the initial inspiration board, here it is:
The room had to be functional, but also pretty, as this room is the first guests see when they enter in through the back door. Storage for sports balls, towels, and muddy shoes were a must have! Here is the room now.
When you walk in, you are greeted by a simple Edison bulb chandelier, and beautiful pictures of two smiling boys! There is a marble top table with storage baskets on the far wall, perfect for storing pool towels and throwing baseball and football bags on.
A huge concern of my client's was a large wall that is against the door openings, where furniture wouldn't work. A simple art board displays the kid's art, and a chalkboard helps the family keep up with their busy schedule.
Here are the custom mudroom lockers. Each family member has their own locker and drawer for shoes, sports balls, briefcases, jackets, etc. The baskets above provide a fun pop of color and more storage.
I added in two printed pillows from TJ Maxx and a roman shade from Pottery barn for some pattern. The kids now have a cozy nook to read a book or play the iPad.
I hope you enjoyed seeing this space as much as I did designing it! Have a lovely week, friends!
