{Jewelry Box} Powder Room
Sparkle, silver, sparkle, mirrors, and more sparkle. That's exactly what this powder room consists of, and it's just BEAUTIFUL!! The homeowner had already chosen the rich wall color, which is Benjamin Moore Pacific Ocean Blue. They also chose to paint the ceiling a metallic silver, which is perfect since there are no windows, and it helps reflect the light nicely.
The main focus in this room was to tie it all together and finish it, but also brighten the lower half since the paint color is on the darker side. After debating over what to do on the large open wall, we decided upon mirrored frames instead of a gallery wall of mirrors. While a great idea, I think too many mirrors would have overpowered the room. We also had to dress up a shelf in the space, and I wanted to add something light here. I found a gorgeous beaded white pottery pitcher and we added some willow branches for height. Here's the finished product.
We were able to incorporate this beautiful abstract done by my client's uncle. It pulls the blue from the walls and the yellow contrasts nicely. To make the canvas more finished, we had it put in a simple white frame.
I found these fern prints on Etsy for a great price, and the mirrored frames are actually a Bed Bath and Beyond find and were only $20/each! I'm now kicking myself for not purchasing all they had left in stock because they are so gorgeous.
I wanted a taller mirror over the sink to play up the high ceilings. I found this beauty at Home Goods. It has an antiqued glass frame and the lovely beaded trim goes right along with the jewelry box feel of the room.
Doesn't this room make you want to go out and buy something pretty?! Have a lovey week!
