{Lloyd St. Bungalow} Great Room

The Great Room - a place for gathering, a place for family and friends, a place to RELAX! While working on the Lloyd Street Bungalow’s living room, I also had the opportunity to fully re-furnish this family’s Great Room. The goal : to be kid friendly and be able to seat a lot of family and friends! This family has quite a few family dinners (and they have a LARGE family!) and church gatherings so we wanted the room to be a comfortable place all of their loved ones could gather.

This little corner was created with her two twin boys in mind. A table for artwork to be created and later down the road for homework to be finished. The table is an antique butcher block table from the early 1900s. I just love a good antique piece! We also placed a large wood board made of old rustic wood on the wall for a unique artwork display area. A few clips and some artwork, and it will be a masterpiece!

We put a white sofa in the living room, so the goal was to place a large leather sofa in this room so that the kids could jump and run all over it as they wish. If you didn’t know, leather gets softer with hundreds of bounces!!! ;-)

The family already had this cute chalkboard sign and I think it works so well in the space. We reused two white bookcases and my client styled these all on her own!! She did a great job!

I have to say, these white spindle chairs with blue ticking stripe fabric turned out beautifully! They are comfortable and just plain pretty, probably some of my favorite chairs to date. We added two cozy swivel chairs in the far corner for extra seating and a great place to snuggle up with a good book.

And finally, the FIREPLACE!! I can’t take credit for this at all! My client had a vision, and she took charge. Didn’t it turn out beautifully?! So simple, classic, and clean. She designed it and had a friend build it for her. It fits the room so wonderfully!
